Debra "Debbie" Kay (Larson) Miller, age 66, of Crookston, Minnesota passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, in Fargo, North Dakota. She died peacefully after a long illness, surrounded by family members at her bedside.
Debbie was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on March 11, 1959, to Norman and Norma Larson. Debbie spent her childhood and adolescence in Richfield, Minnesota. Upon graduation in 1977, she pursued technical training and building a long, meaningful, and distinguished career as a Computer Programmer and Systems Analyst, serving 17 years at Bachman's Floral. During this time, she married Craig Miller on September 25, 1982. On July 20, 1986, they welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Elizabeth "Betsy" to their family. Debbie later joined Normandale College in Bloomington, Minnesota where she contributed another 17 years as a valued member of the Information and Technology Department. In June 2016, she retired and relocated to Crookston, Minnesota where she embraced her most cherished role- Grammie, taking care of her two grandson's Evan and Dylan.
Debbie's greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind her husband and best friend, Craig; her daughter and son-in-law, Betsy and Ryan Ferwerda; her beloved grandsons, Evan and Dylan, all whom brought light to every day of her life. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Lee Larson; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Patti and Jim Russ; and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Steve and Mary Ann Miller, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Norma; her brother, Greg Larson; her nephew, Drew Russ; her parents-in-law, Lyle and Ruth Miller; and numerous extended family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church in Crookston, Minnesota with the visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will be served at the church following the service. The service will be livestreamed, a link to which will be available at www.stenshoelhouske.com/obituaries/debra-miller.
Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church, 205 S Broadway, Crookston, MN 56716. A private interment will take place this spring at Dawn Valley Cemetery in Bloomington, Minnesota.
