Joyce Raymond

Joyce Marie Raymond, age 66, of Crookston, MN, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Joyce was born on July 2, 1954, in Crookston, MN, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Alice (Beauchane) Raymond.  She grew up in Red Lake Falls, MN, and graduated from Red Lake Falls High School.  Afterwards, she studied nursing at Northland Community College in Thief River Falls, MN.  She worked in REM Group Homes as a caregiver and moved to New York in 2005 where she again worked as a caregiver.  In 2015 she moved back to Crookston when she had to retire due to her health.  In her free time, Joyce liked to knit, make blankets, shop, go on trips, and especially spend time with her family.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Samantha Shields of Beacon, NY; sons, Erik Gudvangan of Crookston, MN and Thomas Gudvangan of Grand Forks, ND; 11 grandchildren, Savannah, Sierra, Cody, Keaton, Carter, Alexis, Michael, Niya, Jarred, Madyson, and Damonica; and 1 great-granddaughter, Aria.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Alice Raymond.

A celebration of life for Joyce will be held in the Calvary Cemetery, Crookston, on Friday July 2, 2021 at 10:00 am.
