Warren Bakken

Warren Allen Bakken, 61, of Crookston, MN, formerly of Mentor, MN, passed away on Thursday June 26, 2025.

Warren Allen Bakken was born on November 17, 1964, in Crookston, MN to Allen Bakken and Linda Leinhart Bakken. Warren grew up in Mentor, MN, and on June 22, 2012, he was united in marriage to Frances Malinowski. Following their marriage, they moved to Crookston, MN. Warren was a jack of all trades who was always willing to help anyone in need.

Warren accompanied his best friend "Big O" around the United States riding in his Peterbilt semi for many years. When he was not on the road with Big O, Warren enjoyed visiting people around town. To him it did not matter if someone was an old friend or a new acquaintance. Warren loved to visit with people either way. He also loved bingo and scratch offs.

Warren is preceded in death by his father, Allen Bakken in 2008; grandparents, Louis and Amanda Bakken, George and Ella Leinhart.

Warren is survived by his wife, Frances; daughter, Rachel Hatherlee (Tom Olson) of Thief River Falls, MN; mother, Linda Bakken of North Branch, MN; brothers, Brian (Laura) Bakken of Warroad, MN; Clayton Bakken (Jennifer Tredt) of Mentor, MN; sister, Janelle (Josh) Agnes of Harris, MN.

Funeral services will be held on Monday June 30, 2025, at 11:00 am at Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am. Interment will take place in Hope Lutheran Cemetery in Fosston, MN following the service.
