Ricardo Garza

March 31, 1969 — July 5, 2025

It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of Ricardo Garza, a devoted father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Ricardo passed away on July 5, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of unforgettable stories, deep family love, and the kind of resilience that only comes from a life fully lived. Born on March 31, 1969, Ricardo was a man who lived on his own terms. Known for his sharp wit and endless ability to talk his way out of trouble, he had a story for every situation - and if you heard it once, you were lucky to hear it again, with new details every time. His stories, like his life, were full of color, laughter, truth, and survival. Ricardo's greatest love was for his children: Eddie, Yesenia, Robert, Selena, Rolando, Rick Elvis, and Junior. Despite life's challenges and the distance that sometimes came between them, his love for his kids and later, his grandchildren, never wavered. His grandkids, Ezra, Alysandra, Liliana, and Xavier Jr brought him joy, pride, and hope. The road was Ricardo's happy place. Whether he was behind the wheel or just chasing the next chapter of his story, movement gave him peace. Ricardo was a hard-working man who traveled doing migrant work and drove a taxi. He never asked anyone for anything, carried his pain quietly, and faced addiction and hardship with a strength most never say. Through it all he kept going because that is who he was.

Ricardo is survived by his step-mother, Norma Trevino, his siblings, Rosie, Veronica, Yvonne, Regina, Melissa, Melinda, James, Lamar, Lety, Lee Esteban, Tito and Adan.

He is preceded in death by his beloved sons, Ricardo Garza, Jr., and Rick Elvis Garza; his mothers, Estefana Garza and Leonor Trevino; father, Pablo Tevino; sister, Melissa Garza; brother, Rolando Garza; nephew, Tito Trevino, Jr.

Ricardo loved deeply, laughed loudly, and lived fiercely. We will remember him for his spirit, his stories, and the love that despite everything always found a way through. Rest easy, Ricardo. The road is yours now and forever.

My dear kids, I’ve taken the ultimate road trip — no GPS, no return ticket, just peace, rest, and probably a few angels shaking their heads at my stories. Don’t worry, I’m good. I finished the race, kept the faith, and told just enough stories to make it interesting (2 Timothy 4:7).

You were always my greatest adventure. My biggest laughs, my proudest moments. If I left you anything, I hope it’s a good sense of humor and better directions than I ever used. Keep living. Keep laughing. Keep your faith. And don’t forget — I’m watching, probably rolling my eyes, and always loving you. With all my love (and a little bit of sarcasm),
