Rev. Timothy Noah

Rev. Timothy T. Noah, 91, of Crookston, Minnesota passed away at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota on Wednesday, February 15, 2012. Timothy Thomas Noah was born January 28, 1921 to Michael and Christine Noah. Timothy was ordained June 1, 1947. Fr. Tim served as Assistant Pastor at: Sacred Heart, East Grand Forks 1947; St. Joseph's, Ada 1947; St. Bernard's, Thief River Falls, with Missions at Goodridge, Grygla, and Middle River 1948-51; St. Philip's, Bemidji, with Mission at Pennington 1951-55; Pastor at: St. Mary's, Badger, with Mission at Benwood 1955-57; Sacred Heart, Roseau, with Mission at Falun 1957-71; St. Mary's, Badger 1971-72; St. John's, Georgetown with Mission at Felton 1972-1976; St. Elizabeth's, Dilworth 1976-81; Holy Trinity, Tabor 1981-91; St. Patrick's, Hallock, with Mission at Lancaster 1991-10. Father Tim retired on September 7, 2010, but continued to concelebrate mass during his stay at Villa Maria Nursing Home, Fargo, 2010-12. Fr. Tim was honored to be named after the great first bishop of the Diocese of Crookston, Timothy Corbett. Under the leadership of Fr. Tim, the Sacred Heart Parish in Roseau constructed the magnificent brick building which comprises the church rectory and parish hall. Fr. Tim and his brothers and sisters donated the granite altar at Sacred Heart in memory of their parents. The altar is engraved with the image of a Cedar of Lebanon-the scriptural symbol of power, prosperity and endurance. Inscribed on the altar are the Latin words meaning: "The Just Man shall flourish like the Cedar of Lebanon." Fr. Tim was an active hunter, fisher, and snowmobiler. In January of 1968, sponsored by the Sacred Heart Men's Club, he drove a Roseau-built Polaris snowmobile in the International 500 snowmobile race from Winnipeg to St. Paul. While serving in Georgetown, Fr. Tim, and his brother, John Noah, organized and coached the first hockey team of Shanley High School. He is survived by his brother John (Mary) Noah, Fargo, ND; nephews and nieces, Judy Geatz, Thief River Falls, Patricia Langer, Edina, MN, Donna Thein, Cold Spring, MN, Anne Pierce, Eden Prairie, MN, Raymond Pierce, Crookston, Joanne Quinn, Seattle, WA, MaryPat Tiedemann, Twin Cities, Matt Noah, Lisa Harvey, David Noah, Paul Noah, Mark Noah, Thomas Noah, Andrew Noah and Christopher Noah all of Fargo; grand nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Joseph Noah and Rev. Daniel Noah; sisters, Mary Noah, Veronica Horton, Lucille Pierce, Grace Tiedemann, Kathryn Noah, Mary Ann Noah and Patricia Noah; a nephew, Roger Horton, a niece, Christine Tiedemann, and a grandniece, Leah Campbell. Fr. Tim lived his faith every minute of every day and was unwavering in his commitment to God, his parishioners, and his family. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Crookston, Minnesota. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Crookston. Visitation will be held at the Cathedral on Monday evening from 4 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. The Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home of Crookston is in charge of arrangements.
