Mark W. Hohman, 63, of Ada, MN, died suddenly of natural causes on Sunday, September 25, 2016, at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, October 1, 2016, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston with Fr. Joseph DeCrans, officiating. Friends may call at the Cathedral for 1 hour prior to the Mass on Saturday. Mark William Hohman was born on April 25, 1953 in Greenbush, MN to James W. and Helen (Kile) Hohman. He was raised and educated in Crookston and was a 1971 graduate of Crookston Central High School. He then attended the University of Minnesota – Crookston. Mark was united in marriage to Deb Wise on July 26, 1975 in Crookston. He was employed at Montague's Floral in Crookston for several years. Mark and Deb purchased the Montague Flower Shop in Ada, MN and operated it until 1981. He worked for Three Keys Floral in Fargo and in 1988 began employment with U. S. West, today known as Century Link. During Mark's years with the telephone company he became a member of the President's Club and received several commendations.
Mark enjoyed fishing, especially trips to Canada and the Upper Red Lake, hunting, tinkering, garage sales, auctions, and his pets. He was known for his jovial personality and for picking on his nieces and nephews. He was willing to help anyone who needed a hand. Survivors include his wife and best friend, Deb, of Ada, MN; mother, Helen Hohman of Crookston, MN; his pets, Marlo, Pal and Kitty; brothers and sisters: Louis Hohman of North Carolina, Carole Hohman of St. Hilaire, MN, Matthew (Terra) Hohman of Fergus Falls, MN, Peter (Cheryl) Hohman of Columbia Falls, MT, Thomas Hohman of White Fish, MT, Karin (Jason) Perkovich of Thief River Falls, MN; brothers –in-law, Jay (Rose Marie) Wise of Eldred, MN and Jerry (Candy) Wise of Crookston, MN; several nieces and nephews; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Mark was preceded in death by his Father, James, and his grandparents. The Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home is assisting with funeral arrangements.
