Louis Andringa, 98, of Crookston, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at his residence on August 9, 2026.

Louis was born on July 20, 1928 in Eldred, Minnesota to Joe and Gertrude Andringa. He attended Eldred Consolidated School and after graduating he moved to Crookston. Louis married Teresa LaPlant and from their union, they welcomed 6 children. While Louis was a lifelong sugar beet and grain farmer, he also worked for Crookston Paint and Glass, American Crystal, and the Red River Alfalfa.

Louis and Teresa were members of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston. He enjoyed spending time at the lake, loved reading murder mystery books, and thoroughly enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play hockey. Those who knew him, knew he also was a highly competitive Smear player.

Louis is survived by his children, Tom Andringa of Bend, OR, Jim Andringa of Florida, Paul Andringa of Mentor, MN, Bill (Michele) Andringa of Bemidji, MN and Mark Andringa of Crookston, MN; grandchildren, Brittney, Ryan, Brandi, Kooper, Joshua, Stephanie, Nick, Sarah, Ben, Blaine; great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Lilly, Ava, Alery, Jack, Molly, Mahtaela, Parker, Stevie, Fin, Ariya, and Finley.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Teresa; daughter, Patty Anderson.

Funeral services for Louis will be held on Saturday August 15, 2026 at 11:00 am at Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home in Crookston with visitation beginning one hour prior.
