Lorraine Monadell Stainbrook, age 89 of Crookston, MN went to her heavenly home on May 9, 2016 at the Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home, Crookston, MN. A celebration of her life and funeral mass will be at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.
Lorraine was born December 27, 1926 to parents Arthur & Ovidia (Brandwick) Roy in Crookson, MN. Lorraine grew up in Crookston and was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith at St. Anne's Catholic Church. Lorraine graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in Crookston in 1944. She then went on to Nursing School in Mpls, graduating May 11, 1947, with a RN degree. Throughout her career in nursing she worked at the local hospitals in Crookston. Lorraine married the love of her life James Oliver Stainbrook on June 26, 1949 in Crookston. Lorraine loved to knit and crochet, making many gifts for family and friends. She also enjoyed spending her time at the cottage on Maple Lake, with Jim, family and friends. Special thanks goes to Mary Tuseth and Virginia Stainbrook, for all their care and love shown Lorraine over these past several years. Thank you to all the staff and caregivers at the Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home for providing great care and kindness to Lorraine. Lorraine is survived by three children, David (Yvonne) Stainbrook, Greensboro, NC, Mary Kay (Greg) Dufault, Howard, SD, and Rick (Deb) Stainbrook, Park Falls, WI; grandchildren, Kristin, Karen, Misty, Sean, Adam, Matthew and Jessica; great-grandchildren, Reagen , Easton, Violet, Vince, Theo, Orla and Ruby Marie. Lorraine is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James in 2013, a great grandson Gabriel Lucas in September 2015, and her sister Donna in October 2015, Memorials and Condolences may be sent to the family at this address Mary Kay Dufault, 610 North Section Line St, Howard, SD 57349.
