Obituary

Lloyd Jerome Kasprick, 98, of Angus, MN passed away Monday, October 12, 2026, at the Benedictine Living Community with his loving wife and family by his side.

Lloyd was born January 29, 1928, to Max and Mary (Taus) Kasprick in Badger, MN in Roseau County. The family then moved to Angus, MN that same year. Lloyd grew up and attended a rural grade school in Angus, MN. He also attended the Northwest School of Agriculture and graduated in March, 1946.

Lloyd married Adelaide Gust on April 7, 1953, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in East Grand Forks, MN. They made their home on Lloyd's family farm in Angus where they raised their 8 children.

A dedicated farmer all his life, Lloyd took pride in his hard work ethic and raised his family to honor that legacy. He prided himself on his ability to make sure all the beet rows were planted straight. He was still combining at age 90.

Lloyd loved nature and would drive the back roads on family outings. He would tell the family to look at all the "flora and fauna". Lloyd always enjoyed driving around the countryside and checking on how all the crops were doing. He was an avid birdwatcher and would make sure the birds were supplied with plenty of food. He also bred and raised golden retrievers; golden retrievers always held a special place in his heart.

Besides farming, the family had a herd of registered cattle - the "Kacrest" Holsteins. Lloyd and the family showed cattle at the Red River Valley Winter Shows in Crookston, MN and the Minnesota State Fair. Lloyd was a member of the Minnesota Holstein Association where he served on the Board of Directors.

Lloyd and Adelaide received the Farmers and Homemakers Award in 1983. This award was presented to couples for their involvement in agriculture as well as in community, church, and social activities. He was also leader of the Angus 4H club. Lloyd was an active member of St. Mary's Church in Euclid. He was a lector, usher, bookkeeper, and served on the financial council.

Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Adelaide, and their 8 children. Mary Kay (Dave) Gee of Moorhead, MN; Nancy (Steve) Peterson of Wolbach, NE; Lori Kasprick of Crookston, MN; Kathleen Kenyon of Grand Forks, ND; Diane Kasprick of Dilworth, MN; David Kasprick of Grand Forks, ND; Barb Ljunggren of Grand Forks, ND; Brian (Brenda) of Angus, MN.

He is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Thomas (Cathy) Gee, Steven Gee, Katherine (Chris) Bernt, AJ (Kristin) Kasprick, Robert Kasprick, Kristin (Cameron) Hudson, Ryan (Ally) Kenyon, Brady Kenyon, Amanda Ljunggren, Alexis (Tate) Steffan, Brittany (Adam) Jiskra, Brandon Kasprick, and Brady (Kjerstin) Kasprick.

In addition, Lloyd is survived by 12 great-grandchildren: Adelaide, Ruby, Caroline, Pearl, August, and Mavelynn Bernt; Leo, Nora, and Kellen Kasprick; Hazel Hudson; Sophie Steffan; and Lucy Jiskra.

Also survived by brother Lyle (Kath) Kasprick and Father Roger Kasprick, sister-in-law Hattie (Darrell) Pladson and many nieces and nephews. Last, but not least, Lilly, his trusted golden retriever.

He is preceded in death by his parents Max and Mary Kasprick; brother Harold (Anne) Kasprick; sisters Margaret Kasprick and Ruth (Lloyd) Beiswenger; sisters-in-law Harriet Kasprick, Anna (Rudy) Straus, Grace Cariveau; and daughter-in-law Beth Kasprick.
