Leah was born in Crookston on July 28, 1919, the daughter of Andrew and Laura (Reser) Seaton. Growing up, Leah attended the Little Brick School House until the eighth grade and graduated from Central High School in 1936. On June 25, 1942, Leah was united in marriage to Allen John Brolsma in Warren, Minnesota. Sadly, Allen passed away in 2004. Shortly after their wedding, Allen and Leah moved to California while Allen completed Army training. Leah, then became the County Secretary for the West Polk County Farm Bureau Office until her retirement in 1983.

She also was an active volunteer at the Polk County Historical Society and Museum in Crookston and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Leah was a devoted mom to her four children; Bob, Jim, Nancy, and Scott; nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
