IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Laura Ann
Charais
January 26, 1946 – February 5, 2026
Funeral Service
First Presbyterian Church
Starts at 10:30 am (Central time)
Laura Ann Charais, 80, of Crookston, Minnesota, passed away on February 5, 2026.
She was born on January 26, 1946, in Neptune, New Jersey, to Paul and Naomi Munion.
Laura spent her early years growing up in New Jersey before eventually finding her way to the Midwest due to her father's work as a Methodist pastor. It was during this time that she met Dale, and together they raised their two sons on the family farm just west of Crookston. As the boys grew older, Laura earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Dakota. Later, after her children were older, she worked for Lutheran Social Services and First Presbyterian Church.
Her intelligence was matched by a dry wit that often came with a knowing smile. She loved playing golf with her friends' golf group (the "Golf Gals"), a connection she maintained long after she was no longer able to play herself. She cherished those friendships deeply. The coffee, cards, and wine made Tuesday afternoons something to look forward to.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Dale; two sons, Alec (Susan) of Andover, Minnesota, and Brad (Shawna) of Fargo, North Dakota; grandson, Allen; brother, Richard (Susan) of St. Paul, Minnesota; nieces and nephews, Katherine (Jeff), Andy (Katie); cousins, Karen and Stacy; and sister-in-law, Corrine.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Naomi; great-aunt Margorie; cousins, Arnold and Carol; in-laws, Clarence and Lelia, and sisters-in-law, Delsie and Carol Fae.
A service will be held on February 20, 2026, beginning at 10:30 AM, at First Presbyterian Church in Crookston.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be designated at a later date.
She will be remembered with love and affection.
