Kent Allen Bushard May 2, 1958 – July 2, 2013 Kent A. Bushard, age 55, of Crookston, MN, died Tuesday morning, July 2, 2013 at his home in Crookston, with his wife and sister at his side. Kent was born on May 2, 1958 in Bismarck, son of Ronald and Roseann (Anderson) Bushard. He grew up there and went through eighth grade, when he moved to Driscoll, ND, where he graduated from high school. He worked on a farm and drove truck over-the-road for a few years. He also worked on the Mississippi River out of the Twin Cities on a tow boat (a favorite job of his career). He moved to Crookston with Wanzek Construction, while working on construction at the Crystal Sugar factory and continued to work with Wanzek as a field superintendent for twenty-two years, working on the Ralph Engelstad Arena, the Alerus Center, bridges throughout the region and wind farms in Florida, Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota. He worked for a short time as a welder. He and his wife, Linda, have been together for twenty-five years and raised four children together. He enjoyed motorcycle riding including a trip to Denver 9-11 Freedom Rally: Colorado Fallen Heroes Memorial Ride, charity runs for diabetes, heart and teddy bear runs, and a number of benefit rides. He enjoyed camping, fishing, ice fishing and spending time with family. He was a member of ABATE of Minnesota and the Crookston Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife: Linda of Crookston; four children: Trevor Bushard (Danielle Renwick) of Bradenton, FL, Shane Bushard of Moose Lake, Michael Jensen of Grand Forks, and Laura Jensen of Crookston; former daughter-in-law and friend: Tara Bushard of Crookston; eight grandchildren: Maribel, Nico, Jasmine, Revan, David, Simon, Bane & Bree; two siblings: Debbie Bushard of Crookston and Rodnee Bushard (Rachelle Cartier) of Crookston; his dog: Gizmo; and his cat: Bailey. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ronald & Roseann Bushard; and all of his grandparents. Kent's funeral will be held at 3 PM, Saturday, July 6, 2013 at the Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home, Crookston, MN. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 PM, Saturday at the funeral home.
