Obituary

Judith Ann Staff-Perreault, age 82, passed away at her home in Crookston, Minnesota on Friday, July 24, 2026, with her family at her side. She was born March 20, 1944, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, to parents Marvin and Adeline (Gunderson) Fladland. Her life was distinguished by her care and compassion for others and a steadfast devotion to her family and faith.

Judy grew up in rural East Grand Forks, Minnesota, and attended East Grand Forks Senior High School. She married Marvin Staff in 1962, before the end of her senior year. They were blessed with four children before Marvin’s passing in 1983. After being widowed at 39 years old, Judy persevered to provide for her children, she worked at Your Host and RBJ’s restaurant and returned to school after being a stay-at-home mom to raise her children. She earned her GED in 1984 before continuing her education and graduated from the University of Minnesota– Crookston in 1986 and Moorhead State University in 1989. After graduating, she worked as a licensed social worker at the Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home in Crookston until her retirement. Her resiliency and strong faith in Jesus set a strong example and foundation for her children.

In 2001, Judy married Donald Perreault. They lived many happy years together, spending winters in Texas with the many special friends made there, enjoyed spending time at South Padre Island and loved dancing together.

Judy loved dogs and flowers, she found peace and beauty in nature. She enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing and quilting, but her favorite thing was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family was extremely important to Judy, she cared for her special needs daughter her whole life right up until her passing. She’s very proud of her children and grandchildren, her love for them never questioned.
