John Bollig

John Ricky "Rick" Bollig, 59, of Crookston, MN, died Saturday morning, January 5, 2013, at the Hope Center of Care and Share in Crookston. He had been struggling with ill health for several months. Rick was born to John D. and Virginia (Harris) Bollig on April 8, 1953 at Brainerd, MN. He attended high school in Brainerd and worked in the area. Rick married at a young age and was later divorced. He loved the outdoors, and favorite pastimes included fishing, hunting, and visiting with friends. Rick struggled with alcoholism, but was proud to maintain sobriety through the ups and downs of his illness. Loving family members include a sister, Vicky Bollig, and sister-in-law Barbara Bollig of Brainerd, MN; aunts, Twyla Danzig, of Los Angeles, CA and Jean Bliss, Brainerd; and a number of cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Virginia Bollig; and a brother, Ronald Bollig. May God bless Rick's memory. A memorial service for John Ricky Bollig will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 11, 2013, at the Care and Share Center at 220 E 3rd Street in Crookston, MN, with The Rev. Bill Reck, officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Brainerd, MN.
