Jeffrey Earl Swenson, age 77, passed away peacefully on Labor Day, September 1, 2025, after a long struggle with Parkinson's Disease. He had been a resident of the St. Anthony Park Home in St. Paul since 2022.
Jeff was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota, on May 19, 1948. He grew up in Crookston, Minnesota, graduating from Crookston Central High School in 1966. After college at North Dakota College of Sciences in Wahpeton and North Dakota State University in Fargo, Jeff enlisted in the US Navy and served aboard the USS Dealey, a Destroyer Escort. After honorable discharge from the Navy, he founded Swenson Art Glass in Minneapolis, and crafted many beautiful stained glass windows for residences, businesses, and churches throughout the Twin Cities. Jeff loved his black Labradors, Buster and Sadie, who were his constant companions.
He was preceded in death by his mother Jorgine, his father Earl, and his younger brother Mark. He is survived by his brothers Kent, Lyle, and Tim, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. His life will be celebrated, and he will be laid to rest near his mother, father, and brother in Oakdale Cemetery in Crookston, Minnesota.
A graveside service for Jeff will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Oakdale Cemetery in Crookston, Minnesota. Visitation time with the family will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the service.
