James Hudson Jr

James Floyd Hudson Jr., age 68, of Crookston, MN, died at his home late Saturday evening, July 13, 2013, with his beloved wife, Donna, at his side. He fought a courageous battle with cancer for 4 months. Jim was born at Clara, MS, on August 23, 1944, the son of James and Nancy (Baygents) Hudson Sr. He grew up in Clara and graduated from Clara High School in 1963. He made his home in Waynesboro, MS for several years before moving to Casper, WY in 1975. Jim was employed as the sales manager for the Varco Tool Company in Casper, and later became the maintenance manager of Teton Homes for 22 years. On December 21, 2002 he was united in marriage to Donna (Ludgate) Pickering in Casper. The couple made their home in Casper until moving to Crookston in 2006 to be closer to Donna's daughter, Lori Folkers, and her family. Jim worked for Polk County at the Government Center in Crookston until January of 2011. He had a passion for the great outdoors and living in Wyoming for most of his life enabled him to enjoy annual elk and bear hunting trips with friends in those beautiful Wyoming mountains. Jim went fishing at every opportunity and his favorite sport was football. He was very handy and could fix just about anything. Family was of utmost importance in Jim's life and he looked forward to spending time with his blended family.

Grateful to have shared in Jim's life are his loving wife, Donna, of Crookston, MN; 2 daughters and their families: Kimberly (Wilmer) Hopkins of Buckatunna, MS and their 3 children, Heather (Josh) Jordan their 2 children, Breeze and Izayah, and Haley, and Hallie Hopkins; Karol (Craig) Bostic of Brandon, MS and their 2 children, Christopher and Deanna Bostic; 2 step-daughters: Kerri (Roy) Kowalski of Edgerton WY, and Lori (Wayne) Folkers and their 3 children, Shelby, Taylor, and Bailey Folkers. Jim also leaves a sister, Mildred Ready of Richton, MS; a brother, Jerry Wayne (Alley) Hudson of Waynesboro, MS; and many other relatives and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Nancy; 2 brothers, Curtis and Alfred; and a step-son, Rick Pickering. May God bless the memory of James Floyd Hudson Jr. A prayer service for Jim Hudson will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 20, 2013, at the Church of Christ, 321 5th Avenue South in Crookston, with Pastor Dave Johnson, officiating. Visitation and fellowship time with the family will follow the service. Jim's memorial service will be held at the White House Chapel in Waynesboro, MS with inurnment at the White House Cemetery.
