Hollie Coauette

April 19, 1983 — August 5, 2012

Hollie Jean (Fontaine) Coauette, 29, of Crookston, MN, died at her home Sunday, August 5, 2012. Hollie was born in Crookston on April 19, 1983, the daughter of James and Lori (Delude) Fontaine. She was raised in Crookston's Woods Addition, which automatically qualified her as one of the "Hoods in the Woods." Hollie was baptized and confirmed at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and attended Cathedral Elementary School. As a young girl she babysat for many neighborhood families and friends, and at the age of eleven got her first braces on her teeth. They came off in 1997, and what a very happy, very proud young lady she was. The first stop on the way home from the orthodontist's office was to show her grandma Betty, who was quite ill at the time. It cheered them both up! Hollie graduated from Crookston Central High School in 2001. While in high school, she was employed part-time at the Villa St. Vincent. In June of 2003 Hollie and her fiance', Andrew Coauette, moved to Moorhead, where she worked providing care to the developmentally disabled. Later, she and a friend, Lona, decided to become hairstylists, and enrolled at the Academy of Hair Design in Moorhead. On March 3, 2004, Hollie and Andy were blessed by the arrival of their first child, a daughter, Jenna Jean. In May of 2004, Hollie, Andy, and Jenna moved back to their hometown of Crookston, making their first home on Sampson Street. Andy farmed with his family and Hollie returned to the Villa to work as a part-time Nursing Assistant. Hollie and Andy were united in marriage on July 16, 2005 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in a ceremony performed by The Rev. Bill Reck. Their family soon grew to include a son, Carter Anthony, who was born on March 15, 2006. While balancing her life as a busy wife and mom, Hollie continued her employment with the Villa. In 2008 she began working at Opticare in Crookston as an optometric technician. After enrolling in the LPN program at the Northland Community Colleges in Thief River Falls and East Grand Forks, Hollie returned to part-time employment at the Villa. She received her diploma as an LPN in June 2011, which meant taking on new responsibilities as a full-time employee at the nursing home. Hollie was adored by the Villa residents, many for whom she provided very compassionate end of life care. "Everybody who knew Hollie loved her!" was a quote most often heard from her family and friends, and the co-workers who shared in her professional life. Hollie's mission was to help those in need, and she always worried more about others than she did herself. She was presently on course to receive her degree as an RN next spring. She enjoyed playing in the adult women's volleyball league, and spending time at the lake. Hollie was dedicated to her children, Jenna and Carter. They were the passion in her life and her reason for wanting to excel. She will be missed beyond measure. May God bless the memory of Hollie Jean Coauette. Left to mourn her passing are Hollie's children, Jenna Jean (8) and Carter Anthony (6), and their father, Andrew Coauette of Crookston, MN; her parents, James and Lori Fontaine of Crookston; two brothers, Cha Michael Delude of Crookston and his sons, Cole Michael and Dalton Michael, and Joshua James "Bones" Fontaine of Crookston and his children, Elizabeth Jean and Dylan Dean, and special friend, Angela Stroot. Hollie is also survived by many special aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Donald and Betty Fontaine, and Clarence and Audrey Delude; an aunt, Sherry King; and a cousin, Jeffrey Burke. A Memorial Mass for Hollie Jean Fontaine Coauette will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, August 11, 2012, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston with Msgr. David Baumgartner, presiding. A remembrance of Hollie will be shared by The Rev. Bill Reck. Visitation with the family will be at the Cathedral on Friday from 5-7:00pm, with a 7:00pm prayer service, and also at the church for one hour prior to the funeral. Memorials may be designated to Hollie's family.
