Gerald “Jerry” Lee Martin, age 68, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, in Crookston, Minnesota. He was born on March 20, 1957, in Wadena, Minnesota to parents Wallace and Joyce (Noe) Martin.

When Jerry was young, his family moved from Wadena to Crookston. He grew up in this community that he loved and would later raise his children.

Jerry was dedicated to his career, working various jobs as a mechanic before ending his working career at Brost. With a strong entrepreneurial spirit as well, he demonstrated his expertise in his field.

Beyond his professional life, Jerry was passionate about music and created lasting memories as a member of the M&D Band alongside family and friends. The joy he found in music reflected not only his talents but also the love for the people in his life.

Jerry is survived by his daughter, Breanna Smith of Crookston, MN; stepson, Dustin Smith of Grasham, OR; grandson, Levi Schipper; siblings, Steve (Kathy) Martin and Mike (Karen) Martin of Crookston, MN, Barb (George) Schroeder of Fargo, ND; and other beloved family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Joyce Martin.

A memorial service celebrating Jerry’s life will be held at Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home in Crookston, MN on Monday, January 26, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation with the family will be one half-hour prior.
