Evelyn Rose Wagner, age 98 of Crookston, MN passed away Friday, September 18, 2015 at Villa St. Vincent Home in Crookston.

Evelyn Rose Weiss was born August 4, 1917 in Browns Creek Township near Wylie, Minnesota the daughter of Fred and Mary (Hilse) Weiss. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Immanuel Lutheran Church by Pastor Walter Amend and confirmed by Paul H. Burgdorf. She graduated from the 8th grade. She was very active in her church, taught Sunday School, was a member of the Young Peoples Society, and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League Society and sang in the choir. Later the church merged to St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls, MN where she was a member. In her early years, she did housework and childcare for her family, many relatives and friends. On January 19, 1954, Evelyn was united in marriage to Harvey C. Wagner the love of her life of Fisher Minnesota. They farmed in Nesbit Township until 1986 when they retired and sold the farm. She loved the farm and always had a hand of help when needed. After their retirement, they purchased a townhome in Crookston and lived there sixteen years. Evy was a very good cook and made bars, fancy cookies, strawberry and orange cookies and mints to fit the occasions for her family, relatives and friends whom she enjoyed entertaining. Together they loved to travel, went on tours by bus, enjoyed six cruises three of which to Hawaii, two to Alaska and one to Mexico and drove to Medora many times. The highlight was going to the Holy Land.

Very sadly, Harvey passed away Februaary 2, 2003. Evy then moved to the Summit for assisted living. She loved to share. Evy was a cheerful giver and will be sadly missed but always remembered by all who shared their life with her.

She is survived by her sister, Marie Casavan of Red Lake Falls, MN and by several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death, by her parents; husband, Harvey; an infant brother and three sisters.
