Eleanor Isaacson

Eleanor Isaacson, 85, of Crookston, MN, went to be with the Lord Jesus on Monday, December 17, 2012. She passed away at the Riverview Hospital, Crookston. Eleanor Rosell Isaacson was born October 11, 1927 to Arthur and Louise (Demarais) Solie in Crookston, MN. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, in Hafslo Lutheran Church, rural Crookston. She grew up on her parents farm and attended school in district 278 in Fairfax Township, rural Crookston. Eleanor married Carl D. Isaacson July 31, 1947 in Crookston, MN at a ceremony conducted by Rev. E. A. Schuett. They farmed and were the parents of four children. Besides working with Carl on the farm, she worked at the Marvin Johnson Farm for four years candling and packaging eggs. In 1970, she went to work at "Jiffy Fry" in Crookston. Carl and Eleanor were members of the Haflso Lutheran Church until it closed. Then they joined Trinity Lutheran Church in Crookston. They enjoyed traveling to Colorado to visit daughter Cheryle and her husband John and family when they lived in Denver, and the Kansas City, MO area when John and Cheryle moved there.Carl passed away July 3, 1999. Eleanor continued living on the farm. She enjoyed working in her yard, mowing, and taking care of her flowers. She always like doing her crossword puzzles. She loved her family and would do anything she could for them. She moved to Crookston, May of 2004.

Eleanor is survived by one daughter, Cheryle (John) Scheerer, Kansas City, MO; three sons: Duane (Paula) Isaacson, Fisher, MN; Harlan Isaacson and Dean (Linda) Isaacson both of Crookston; nine grandchildren: Carey (Jeri) Isaacson, Leah Isaacson, Jason (Erin) Scheerer, Stephen (Kendra) Scheerer, Sarah (Scott) Crane, Jason, Joshua, Cassidy, and Justin Isaacson and 16 great grandchildren; one brother, Merle (Janet) Solie, Mentor, MN; sisters, Adeline Maygra, Crookston MN and Elaine Morvig, Winger, MN; sister-in-law, Luella Solie, Fertile, MN; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, her parents, her brother, Jerry, an infant brother, Duane Solie, great grandson, Jason, several nieces and nephews and special friend Harvey Jensrud. A funeral service celebrating the life of Eleanor Isaacson will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 21, 2012, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Crookston with The Rev. Jo Gast, officiating. Visitation will be at the church for one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in the Hafslo Cemetery, rural Crookston, MN. The Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home is assisting with funeral arrangements.
