Dale H. Wagner, age 76, of Springfield, MO, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2013, at his home. Dale was born on May 22, 1937 at rural Fisher, MN, one of four children of the union of Herbert and Olga (Ross) Wagner. He grew up on the family farm, was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, and attended Fisher schools, graduating from Fisher High School in 1955. He served with the U.S. Navy during the mid-1950's and returned to Fisher following his honorable discharge. On July 3, 1959 Dale was united in marriage to Sharon Johnson at Fisher. He spent 35 years working as a field engineer for the railroad before retiring. After retirement Dale developed a passion for gardening; and looked forward to the first day of planting, the first day of picking, and best of all, the first day of enjoying. Among his many accomplishments through gardening were his beautiful assortments of roses, and growing delicious red and white potatoes, sweet peas, green beans, and much more. Dale was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Sharon; two daughters, Sheila Mata, and Michelle (Robert) Stout of Springfield, MO; three grandchildren: Jeremy Stout, Justin (Samantha) Stout, and Alesha (Jeff) Scott; and four great-grandchildren: Karlee Stout-Scott, Kaydyn Stout, Paityn Stout, and Annabelle Blanks-Fisher. He also leaves a sister, Etta McDonald of Fisher, MN; two brothers, William (Helen) Wagner of Roseau, MN, and Roger (Cheryl) Wagner of Fisher; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. May God richly bless Dale's memory. The funeral service for Dale Wagner will be at 2 p.m., Monday, July 1, 2013, at the Fisher Lutheran Church, Fisher, MN, with The Rev. Karen Young Trenne, officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, June 30, 2013, at Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home, Crookston, with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service, and also at the church for one hour prior to the Funeral. Interment will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Fisher, with military honors provided by Theodore Stalemo American Legion Post #242 of Fisher.
