Clinton Rasmusson

June 15, 1944 — August 7, 2025

Crookston

Clinton Wayne Rasmusson, 81, of Crookston, Minnesota passed away on August 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Clint was born on June 15, 1944, in Westby, Montana to Chester Silas Rasmusson and Agnes Caroline Juve Rasmusson. He attended school in Westby through 11th grade, then moved to Hendrum, Minnesota, where he graduated high school, and he attended Moorhead State University after graduation. Clint enlisted in the United States Army and served in Germany from 1967 until 1969. After leaving the military, Clint began working for the Norman County Highway Department, where he would enjoy a 39-year career until his retirement in 2008.  Throughout his adult life, Clint also enjoyed farming with the Ruebke, Green, and Stromstad families.

On March 27, 1971, he married Maxine Lois Moe at Trinity Lutheran Church in Beltrami, Minnesota. They raised their three children on their farm in rural Ada, where they spent 50 years before moving to Crookston. Clint was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Ada for 50 years until he and Maxine joined Trinity Lutheran in Crookston, Minnesota.

Clint found great joy in hunting, fishing, and playing cards, especially cribbage. He loved it when the house was filled with friends and family, the smell of Maxine's cooking, and the sounds of laughter and storytelling. Above all, he treasured time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  Clint's favorite place to travel was Duluth, including annual family trips there for nearly 40 years.

Clint is preceded in death by his brothers, Chester Rasmusson, Jr. and Robert Rasmusson; sister, Marilyn Doebel; sisters-in-law, Jeanne Rasmusson and Paulette Moe; and brothers-in-law, Charles Gustafson and Donald Moe.

Clint is survived by his loving wife, Maxine Moe Rasmusson of Crookston, MN; daughters, Anne (Brad) Rasmusson Miller of Crookston, MN, Linda (Kris) Nelson of Apple Valley, MN, and Ruth (Carl) Epping of Maple Grove, MN; grandchildren, Jacob Miller, Lucas Miller, Caroline Nelson, Grace Nelson, Donald Epping, and George Epping; sisters, Pat Gustafson of Beltrami, MN, Cheryl (Arnold) Trombley of Adrian, MI, and Tammy (Marty) Kappes of Ada, MN; sister-in-law, Marilee Rasmusson, Fall Creek, Oregon; and many nieces and nephews.

Clint's family will receive family and friends at Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home on Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 pm.
