Anna Palm

Funeral services 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at St. Petri Lutheran Church, Nielsville, MN with Pastor Valarian J. Ahles officiating. Visitation 5-7 p.m. Monday evening in the Stenshoel-Houske Funeral & Cremation Service, Crookston with a prayer service beginning at 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the St. Petri Cemetery. Anna Mae Kathryn Palm, age 85, passed away on December 30, 2015, with her family by her side. She was born to Louis and Annie (Thorson) Rodal on November 16, 1930 in Nielsville Minnesota. She attended Nielsville Elementary and High Schools, graduating in 1948. Anna Mae was united in marriage to DeForest Myles Palm on June 28, 1950 at St. Petri Church in Nielsville. The couple made their home in rural Cummings, North Dakota and in 1951 returned to Nielsville. She was a member of St. Petri Lutheran Church, where she was superintendent and teacher of Sunday school, a member of Hubbard Unit 336 American Legion Auxiliary, where she served as president and secretary, and a member of ELCW. She loved spending time at Lake Sarah, and raising children. Anna Mae was preceded in death by her husband; grandparents, Jacob and Melina Thorson, and Andrew and Sarah Rodal; parents, Annie and Louis Rodal; brother, Lowell; and sisters and brothers-in-law, June (Sherman) Luppen, Ardyce (Don) Sennett, and Mavis (Mahlon) Swedberg.

She leaves behind six sons, Arvin(Jackie) from Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, Douglas, from Nielsville, Minnesota, Milo, from Portland, North Dakota, Leslie, from Nielsville, Minnesota, Daniel (Nancy), from Grand Forks, North Dakota, and Todd, from Becker, Minnesota; grandchildren, Cory, Brandon, Eric and Alyssa; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
