Angela Sip

April 9, 1980 — February 12, 2019

Angela “Angie” Josephine Sip, 38, of Fisher, MN, peacefully passed away at her residence Tuesday morning, February 12, 2019, with family at her side. She battled stage 4 colon cancer courageously for 11 months, choosing quality of life over treatments.  True to her spirit, she skillfully advocated for herself while consulting with doctors on her plan of care, enabling her to successfully avoid unnecessary surgery.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 17th from 5 to 7pm, with a prayer service at 7pm at Stenshoel-Houske funeral home. Funeral Service will be held Monday, February 18th at 10:30am, with visitation one hour prior to service at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception.

Angie was born to Darwin Sip and Linda (Salentine/Sip) Bahls. She attended Central High School in Crookston, MN until the age of 16. She then moved to Fisher, MN, after her mom remarried to Jerry Bahls.  Angie graduated from Fisher High School in 1998, having completed post-secondary coursework at the University of Minnesota, Crookston her senior year.

After high school graduation, Angie moved to Minneapolis, MN and attended Normandale Community College, where she earned her Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree. From there she studied abroad in Mexico, en route to completing her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Communication studies at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Always seeking to achieve her full potential, she later went on to attend Ashworth College, where she earned a diploma in Paralegal Studies. In the course of her professional career, she worked briefly at the Crookston Vitality Project, Phase 2, after which she went on to gain experience in marketing at Power Solutions Marketing and A.G. Edwards and Sons.  Always having a soft spot for her early days in hospitality services, she engaged in work at various restaurants, including a Management position with Pizza Hut.  Her dedication to serving others also led her to work with the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Angie (also known to her closest friends as “Angel”) had a bubbly, outgoing, adventurous, and deeply compassionate spirit.  Her love for life gave her a fantastic ability to bring light, laughter, and love to the whole world. In her true zest for life, she went skydiving, recording the whole experience on video to share with family and friends, before traveling to Thailand, and returning home to more fully explore her “home turf” in the US.

Angie is survived by Darwin Sip (Father) of Canistota, SD; Linda Bahls (Mother) of Fisher, MN; 5 siblings: Joshua Sip of East Grand Forks, MN; Keri Pinna (Oscar Xavier Del Sébastien) and Joseph Sip, all of Minneapolis, MN; Jeff (Amanda) Bahls of Rice Lake, WI; Jami Egland (Justin Olson) of Fisher, MN; nephews: Phoenix Pinna; Cooper, Max and Logan Bahls; and Aaron, Michael, Ean, and Isaac Egeland; her kitty cat, Skittles; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends. Angie was preceded in death by her son, Cole Quintin Mackowick, who after 27 days of life became her forever angel on November 12, 1997; aunt Julie Ross who passed in August 6, 2002; David Egeland, who passed away July 26, 2012; step-father Jerry Bahls, who passed away on October 24, 2018.
