Raymond Kenneth Dahl

October 12, 1921 ~ February 2, 2018 (age 96)

Raymond Kenneth “Ray” Dahl, 96, a lifelong Crookston, MN resident, passed away at the Villa St. Vincent in Crookston Friday morning, February 2, 2018. Ray was born on October 12, 1921 in Crookston to Bernt and Marie (Hanson) Dahl. He graduated from Central High School and then entered the US Army on August 5, 1942. He served for three years during WWII and was stationed in the Aleutian Islands of Alaska until his honorable discharge on November 1, 1945. Ray was united in marriage to Dorothy Vaudrin at Fertile in 1945. Ray and Dorothy made their home in Crookston where they raised their two sons, Don and Robert. During his working career Ray was employed by Crookston Jobbing, and later for Thief River Falls Jobbing until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and visiting with family and friends. Sadly, Dorothy passed away on February 22, 1995. Ray was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and Crookston VFW Post 1902.

Family members include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Don and Kumiko Dahl and Robert Scott Dahl of Crookston; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife, Dorothy, Ray was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Ruth Erickson, Rogge Dahlen, and Katherine Kelch; and three brothers: Martin Dahl, Carl Dahl, and baby Paul, who died at birth. Blessed be the memory of Ray Dahl.

A graveside service for Ray Dahl will be held in the spring at the Oakdale Cemetery in Crookston.
