Rosemary Dvorak

September 1, 1928 — January 25, 2013

Rosemary "Rosie" Dvorak, age 84, of Crookston, MN, died Friday morning, January 25, 2013, at the Villa St. Vincent in Crookston. Rosie was born in Crookston on September 1, 1928, one of five children of the union of Jacob and Anna (Hertweck) Salentine. She grew up in Euclid, MN and was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary's Catholic Church. She graduated from Cathedral High School in Crookston, and on December 27, 1951 was united in marriage to Richard M. Dvorak at St. Mary's. The couple farmed near Tabor, MN before moving to a farm they bought near St. Hilaire, MN. Sadly, Dick died on December 20, 1989. A few years later Rosie moved to Thief River Falls, MN. On November 9, 1997 she married Clarence E. Dvorak at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls. Rosie and Clarence made their home on a farm near Warren, MN before moving to East Grand Forks, MN. In 2011 they became residents of the Good Samaritan Home in East Grand Forks before relocating to their final home at the Villa last February. Clarence passed away a few weeks ago on January 1st. During her lifetime Rosie was a devoted parishoner of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Euclid, St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters in Red Lake Falls, St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, and the Tabor Catholic Church and Altar Society, where she held her current membership. She loved baking bread and buns for her family and friends, and also enjoyed reading, gardening, and canning. Rosie's greatest passion was for her life on the farm, and nothing pleased her more than going for evening drives with Clarence to check on the fields and see how everything was growing. Her kind and loving nature will be long remembered by all who were part of her life. Rosie leaves her sister-in-law, Joan Salentine Amiot of Crookston, MN; several nieces and nephews: Linda (Jerry) Bahls of Fisher, MN, Tony and Sheila Salentine of Euclid, MN, Brian Ross of Fargo, ND, Florence and Danny Waller of Crookston, MN, Pat and Dante Preciado of Gaithersburg, MD, Cathy (Floyd) Helgoe of Cavalier, ND, Terri (Rick) Chandler of Mankato, MN, Ron (Paula) Salentine of Euclid, and Sue (John) Alexander of Grand Forks, ND; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, and other relatives. In addition to her husbands, Richard and Clarence, Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Anna; 2 brothers, John (Mary) Salentine and Francis Salentine; 2 sisters, Katherine (Raymond) Bushee and Elizabeth Salentine; and a niece, Julie Ross. May God bless Rosie's memory. The Mass of Christian Burial for Rosemary Dvorak will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston with The Very Rev. Larry Delaney, presiding. Visitation will be at the Cathedral on Tuesday from 12 Noon to 2:00 p.m., with a 1:00 p.m. Rosary Service. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery at Red Lake Falls, MN. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in Rosie's name to St. Joseph's Cemetery.
