Obituary

Pearl Necola Laines, 97, passed away at the Halstad Living Center in Halstad, MN, on Thursday, December 29, 2016.

Pearl was born to Paul and Anna (Hanson) Laines, on August 27, 1919 in Crookston, MN. She attended Crookston Public School. She later attended Paul's Hairdressing Academy in Minneapolis, MN. Pearl and her sister Mildred owned and operated the Laines Beauty Shop in Crookston for 40 years.

Pearl was a lifetime resident of Crookston, MN, lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, member of the Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aide, and a member of the Sons of Norway.
Pearl was a wonderful baker of delicious Norwegian goodies and orange marmalade. She was very warm hearted and a great friend to all.

Pearl is survived by a nephew, David (Diane) Morken; great nephew, Jason (Kristin); great nieces, Cathleen (Greg) Krauter, Sarah (Jeremy) Lee, and Rachel (Donovan) Larson; great-great nephews, Jacob and Simon Krauter, and Benjamin, Ethan, and Logan Lee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Anna; sister, Mildred Morken; and brother-in-law, Stanley Morken.

There will be a memorial service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2017 with a visitation one hour prior to service at the Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home in Crookston, MN. Interment will be at Oakdale Cemetery in Crookston, MN.
