Clarice Erickson Bryant was born November 13, 1942 to Clarence and Francis (Lambert) Erickson of Clearbrook, MN, where she grew up and attended school. She moved to Bemidji where she worked at the truck stop, and there met her precious George. They were married January 13, 1962 and then went trucking. The couple settled in Crookston in 1965, and is where they spent their lives. Clarice enjoyed reading, sewing, and crocheting. She was well-known for her afghans, baby sweaters, and her love of crafting. Clarice loved to shop! If there was a sale or she had a coupon, off she went. She was a social butterfly who loved people, and they loved her. Clarice loved to play games and was the reigning Marble champion. She and George were also foster parents. Clarice was a long-term member of the Bible Baptist Church, where she was a faithful Sunday school and junior church teacher, as well as, a teacher of Home Ec at the Christian School. Clarice loved the Lord and became a child of God on March 21, 1968.
Clarice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; brother, LeRoy; and sister, Sally. She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Benjamin, April and Jay, Adam, and Georgi; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Darrell and sister-in-law, Caroline Erickson; sister, Ilene and brother-in-law, Gary Nichols; brothers, Leslie and Dale (Smiley) Erickson; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves her only child, Sheila Dawn and son-in-law, Kevin Jerik. Clarice went to be with the Lord on April 8, 2017 at her daughter's home.
The funeral service for Clarice Bryant will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 13, 2017, at the Bible Baptist Church, rural Crookston, MN, with Pastor Clayton Doss, officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the funeral. A private family graveside service will be at the Oakdale Cemetery in Crookston. The Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
